WHERE: On the island of Oahu, from Hawaii Kai Boat Ramp to finish off the KO OLINA RESORT on west Oahu (see map) (32 miles)

DATE AND TIME: Sunday Sept. 17. START ; 9:00 AM.
Mandatory Coaches meeting: Saturday August 16, 5:00 PM at Hawaii Kai Boat Ramp. (Note: There will be no coaches meeting the morning of the race).

CLASSIFICATIONS: ** Crews of nine men **

KOA: DIVISIONS: OPEN

GLASS: DIVISIONS
: OPEN, MASTERS 35+, and MASTERS 45+

GENERAL INFORMATION: OHCRA rules will apply. Must be a member in good standing of a legidimate canoe racing association. Liability waiver must be signed. Must have canvas racing cover.

IMPORTANT-ESCORT BOATS:
Each escort boat must have a VHF radio to enter Ko Olina Marina. Escorts must make contact with Ko Olina Harbor Master by VHF radio channel 71 prior to entering the main channel of the harbor and again prior to leaving the Ko Olina Marina. Each escort must have a radio that complies with OHCRA long distance rules.

COURSE: Start- off the outside channel marker of Hawaii Kai channel (Blinker buoy) between two flags. Crews head west rounding the Diamond Head buoy (seaward) and continue around Barbers point to an orange buoy off the “JW Marriott Ihilani Resort” hotel at Ko Olina Resort. Teams must round the orange buoy clockwise 180 degrees and return to the south end of the resort and the finish between two flags at the entrance to the Ko Olina Marina at the entrance to the Barbers Point deep Draft Harbor.


ENTRY FEE: $150.00 Per Crew. Clubs have the option of entering either koa or fiberglass canoes. You may have as many entries as you desire, provided each crew has their own escort boat.

Hand-delivered entry forms received after September 16, 2000, 5:00pm will be charged a $30.00 late fee. Clubs encouraged to register at Maunalua Beach Park on Saturday, September 16, between 3:00pm and 5:00pm at training site of Hui Nalu. Final crew list must be turned in. Clubs who register on race day, September 17 will be charged a $30.00 late fee per crew.

CANCELLATIONS: Must be made by September 16, 5:00pm for a full refund.

AWARDS: Awards presentation and lunch will be at Lanikuhonua located near the entrance of Ko Olina Resort, between 2:00-4:00pm. Lunch will be provided for each crew member and a coach. Trophies will be awarded for the first three places in each division.
