NOTICE: To all 2008 Rhino Ka'iwi Channel Relay race participants:
As we are all preparing for one of the most exciting paddling events of the season, please take a moment and double check your safety gear, including your escort arrangements.
In 2006, there was an escort boating accident on the island of Molokai, prior to our race. Please be aware that Rhino Event Marketing LLC, and all other co-sponsors and volunteers are not liable for your escort boats or accidents that happen during the course of the race. It is the duty of the escort boat / captain / owner / or skipper to safely escort you, watch out for you, and provide you with a safe journey throughout the race from Molokai to Oahu.
Therefore, please be responsible and communicate your safety and crossing needs with your escort boat driver prior to race day. If an escort boat driver appears to be irresponsible or negligent, they and your team will be penalized and not be allowed to cross the Ka`iwi Channel as a contestant in the 2008 Rhino Ka'iwi Channel Relay event.

An exciting 40 mile, 1- and 2-man
canoe relay race from the Island of
Molokai to the island of Oahu.
There are 9 divisions, with water
changes for all participating athletes
approximately every 20 minutes.Time: Leaves the island of Molokai
at 9am, finish on Oahu at
approximately 2pm. Celebration,
food, refreshments, live
entertainment, and awards
ceremony at Ala Moana Beach Park
(near Magic Island) from 2 until 6 pm.
